Our Blanket Used to be a Plastic Bottle!

PET  is  considered  a  highly  recyclable  plastic.  Once  it  has  been  recycled,  it  becomes  rPET.  DEKU  is  our  recyclable polar fleece blanket. A soft, warm and eco-friendly way to feel comfortable, while flying.

Once PET bottles have been recycled, it becomes rPET. To produce a recycled rPET blanket we need around 45 plastic bottles. These 45 bottles are broken down and transformed into small plastic chips, which are turned in fibers to create the polar fleece blanket.

The rPET production generates 75% less CO2 emissions than in traditional polyester manufacturing, leading to a significant reduction in the carbon footprint. On the other hand, by using recycled PET material, we help reduce plastic waste.

Regarding quality, there are no differences between rPET plastic and traditional polyester. The current process of rPET bottles allows the generation of a new material that maintains intact the characteristics of virgin polyester because in its treatment the fibers are reconstituted at the molecular level.

Both materials are very resistant and have high durability. Both allow an enormous functional versatility due to the fact that they are flexible and have a high tolerance to heat and tearing.

DEKU is our recyclable polar fleece blanket. A soft, warm and eco-friendly way to feel comfortable, while flying. This great solution has many advantages
Our DEKU blanket has a Compliance Certificate that verifies the Global Recycled Standard and complies with all Onboard requirements.
