Turkish Airlines’ Umrah Kit is Highly Commended in OBH Awards 2021
This week, the Onboard Hospitality Awards Ceremony, one of the most prestigious awards in our sector, was held in London, to celebrate the best creations of this year.
Turkish Airlines won the Highly Commended Award on the Best Onboard Amenity Kits for Economy/Low-Cost Carriers category, with TK Umrah Kit, specially presented to passengers on an Umrah pilgrimage - made by Muslims to Mecca at any time of the year, so every little detail was accounted for.
Kaelis took inspiration from the Arabic culture for the concept, colours and textures of this kit. It contains a set of items with a purpose and to ensure the maximum comfort of pilgrims during their flight and to their final destination, this life-changing pilgrimage.
The bag is lightweight and transpirable and has adjustable straps and a zipper for an easy opening. This bag is thought of to enhance the pilgrimage experience so it can be folded for pilgrims’ convenience. In its interior, there is a divider to separate their belongings and several items to elevate their experience such as an anti-slip prayer mat; an electronic finger-tally counter; and Tawaf Socks with a non-slip sole and with the right thickness to provide maximum comfort.
This kit was not only envisioned as a travel kit, it was thought out to be a companion for the pilgrims that are on the way to one of the most important experiences of their lives and shows the passenger how Turkish Airlines cares for them, their religion and their comfort.
